Membership types
Individual, Student, Organization and Partner
Individual membership:
An individual or organization may purchase a one year membership specifically designated for one person. The membership is good for one year from the date of purchase.
Student membership:
An individual or organization may purchase a one year membership specifically designated for one student. The membership is good for one year from the date of purchase.
A student is defined as anyone currently enrolled or who has been enrolled in high school, adult education, or secondary education classes within the past 12 months. This membership grants all the rights and privileges of an Individual membership. Students may retain their "student" designation for up to three years after completing their studies, provided they maintain continuous AALL membership.
Organization membership:
This category allows an organization to purchase five individual memberships for the price of four. Organizations have the flexibility to assign names at the time of purchase or at any point throughout the year. Once assigned, each individual member receives full AALL membership benefits for the remainder of the membership term. Names cannot be changed or substituted once registered. Organizations should note that unused memberships cannot be reclaimed. Timely assignment is recommended to maximize membership benefits.
Partner membership:
An individual or organization may purchase a one year membership specifically designated for an individual connected with a non adult-ed organization. The membership is good for one year from the date of purchase.
The partner organization would have a one-time option to change the name associated with the membership. However, the new individual associated with the partner membership may not be able to receive the associated COABE and MPAEA membership benefits, which may remain associated with the original designee.
Partner memberships are targeted toward workforce, vendors, and other interested non-adult ed practitioners.
What makes a partner? Someone who benefits students, or who would benefit AALL, or who would benefit from the partnership.

Voting rights
Scholarship and other program opportunities
Membership renewal process -
Memberships are one calendar year from time of renewal or start date. Individuals added/named in previously purchased Organizational membership slots and name changes to designated Partner memberships retain the renewal date of the original membership purchase date.
Memberships renewed at the time of the AALL Spring Conference are offered a full year membership that extends one calendar year from point of purchase or from their current membership renewal date, whichever is longer.

Membership rates will be applied for the FY 2026
